Director, Public Relations (Earned Media)

Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles has a once in a lifetime career opportunity for people ready to step to the challenge and work on global campaigns.  The people who join our team, should have the experience and desire to work on a global assignment.  The team works across multiple languages, currencies, cultures, time zones and will be expected to create systems, processes, procedures to streamline our work flow and improve communication.  The Global Team will be expected to work with the country teams (including the U.S.), but will not have specific assignment responsibilities for country-specific work.

As a Director of Public Relations, you develop and implement strategies to generate earned media outcomes that provide additional reach, amplify impact and improve the ROI of client campaigns. An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how digital and non-traditional media operates, possess strong analytical skills, be able to effectively manage a team and have 12+ years of experience in developing public relations campaigns, preferably in an agency setting or in-house for a major brand.

Candidate experience should include:

  • Exceptional persuasive communication and presentation skills (written/verbal)
  • Well versed in brand marketing and storytelling
  • Experience effectively managing a team to produce desired outcomes
  • Ability to develop strategies, clearly articulate desired outcomes, ensure project objectives are met and merchandise past successes
  • Proven success managing client requests and flawlessly implementing feedback
  • Ability to lead and develop long-term and multi-scenario plans
  • Experience in implementing successful traditional, PR and/or social media measurement and valuations
  • Experience in sports marketing, and/or working with professional athletes and/or celebrities is a plus
  • Global communications experience a plus
  • Foreign language skills are preferred, but not required

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Development of PR & EM plans, strategies and ecosystems
  • Budget management and projections, recommending effective project spend
  • Integral role in planning/development of unpaid/content media strategy
  • Collaborate with other departments on a fully integrated manner
  • Identify media-friendly stories associated with new and existing programs
  • Identify and leverage new technologies to extend earned reach
  • Lead communications with partners (community, media, brand, etc.) and establish ongoing relationships
  • Manage a team in tracking, measuring and amplifying earned media coverage
  • Support day-to-day requests across varying client stakeholders and establish ongoing relationships with key clients/stakeholders
  • Identify cross promotional/departmental opportunities to maximize campaign effectiveness
  • Demonstrate passion for creating new methodology, processes and solutions
