HR Manager

As a Talent Manager, you work closely with the Talent (HR) team in developing and implementing HR practices that support Talent development and engagement to create a world class work environment and employment brand.

Candidate experience should include:

Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of HR generalist experience, with heavy emphasis on employee relations. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll and benefit administration in California, along with experience in a fast-paced creative environment.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Provides manager and employee guidance. Sounding board for senior management. Monitors and assists with performance evaluations. Assists managers with performance issues. Handles involuntary terminations. Provides fair advise/counsel to Company regarding complaints/legal issues.
  • Aware of, abide by & enforce Federal/State employment laws and Company policies/procedures. Responsible for legal issues, policy interpretation, wage and hour compliance and EEO/Harassment complaints.
  • Improve efficiency and service delivery through recognition and recommendation of changes in policies and/or procedures.
  • Facilitates performance management process. Administers the Performance Reviews, management/employees regarding ongoing communications on performance expectations/ feedback. Provides guidance and support in development of plans to address performance issues. Provides ongoing constructive performance/cultural feedback to managers/employees.
  • Partners with Human Resources Director and Department Managers regarding compensation issues to ensure internal equity.
  • Work with Talent Coordinator to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Plans training design & implementation initiatives.
  • Ensures Immigration guidelines/laws and Leaves (FMLA, PFL, CFRA, etc.) are managed appropriately.
  • Have strong analytical and project management skills, acts as a model to agency and maintains a strong balance between individual and company needs.
  • Proactively consults and advises managers and employees on HR issues and organizational concerns, coaches/consults with managers and employees; provides direction, and strategy for employee development; and encourages effective conflict resolutions through a constructive airing of differences.
  • Works on the dashboard for the HR Team.
  • Maintains relationships with the network regarding diversity projects and programs
