Freelance Media Planner - Paid Social

Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles has a once in a lifetime career opportunity for people ready to step to the challenge.  Our long-standing global client, Toyota, is beginning an 8-year relationship with a Global Sports Organization and we are hiring people to join the dedicated Global team based in Los Angeles.

The Saatchi & Saatchi team works as one-team with our business partner team at Dentsu Tokyo -- together we lead the global advertising and communications for Toyota's global sports partnership. 

The people who join our Los Angeles based team, should have the experience and desire to work on a global assignment.  The team works across multiple languages, currencies, cultures, time zones and will be expected to create systems, processes, procedures to streamline our work flow and improve communication.  The Global Team will be expected to work with the country teams (including the U.S.), but will not have specific assignment responsibilities for country-specific work.

As a Paid Social Media Planner, you work closely with the Global Media team and Preferred Marketing Developer and Social Platforms in developing, presenting and implementing Paid Social campaigns that deliver against key performance metrics for a highly respected automotive client.  In addition to leading paid social planning across campaigns, this role is responsible for some digital media.

An ideal candidate will be a proactive and curious self-starter with knowledge and energy to develop and execute Paid Social and Digital Media plans with 3-5 years of experience.

Candidate experience should include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of media research tools (IMS, MRI, Nielsen, ComScore, Simmons, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of social ad platforms
  • Interest in social and digital media
  • Automotive or retail media experience is desirable
  • Working comprehension of strategy development and required media math
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and analysis in business writing
  • Able to build and maintain strong interpersonal/professional relationship with vendors, clients, etc.
  • Proficient with the following computer software/systems: Internet and email applications, MS Office, IMS, Powerpoint, Nielsen, Doubleclick, etc.
  • Experienced with trafficking and reporting within the DoubleClick suite or comparable service
  • Knowledgeable of social and digital creative trends and rich media marketplace
  • Excellent organization and time management; ability to prioritize workload and multi-task
  • Proactive nature and collaborative spirit

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Help develop and execute Social and Digital Media strategy
  • Manage social and digital media campaigns across multiple social platforms and digital partners to ensure key performance indicator goals are met
  • Proven ability to execute
  • Recommend strategic and tactical changes to maximize campaign results
  • Cross departmental coordination to develop, implement and monitor new campaigns
  • Develop and test new campaigns to better target users and improve overall ROI
  • Develop and continually adapt best practices based on key learnings and spread across company
  • Weekly contributions to social trends article round-ups
