Director of Agency Communication

This position is responsible for the operational direction of external communication strategy for Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles and Dallas offices. Lead for all external communications, including Advertising trade publications, business publications and luxury publications.

The Communication Director will serve as a cross-functional team lead, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on all Saatchi & Saatchi new business and company goals, providing innovative leadership and strategic direction. Manages ‘We Are Saatchi’ social media profiles.

Candidate experience should include:

  • 8+ Years of experience working in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge leading and executing agency communication initiatives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Exceptional communications & writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment; think and act strategically
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Clear understanding of client service

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Strategically lead and execute all external communication initiatives
  • Setting PR objectives and monitoring performance
  • Ensure brand consistency in all PR efforts
  • Media relations and Saatchi spokesperson lead
  • Close collaboration with counterparts in other agency disciplines, including Leadership (e.g. to create Saatchi stories, Creative (e.g. to create stories around work), PR team (e.g. sync on client initiatives), Account, Strategy (e.g. PR lead for Strategy group initiatives), etc. to provide fully integrated marketing communications for Saatchi
  • Write and edit all press materials – press releases, alerts, photo captions, pitches, interview preps, correspondence, etc.
  • Create story ideas.
  • Create and oversee social media strategy and execution for all owned channels
  • Effectively use social media platforms to communicate agency messaging, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Create and manage budgets, including for paid media, events and internal billing
  • Create strategy and oversee content creation for agency social channels and website, including drafting and editing blog posts, and organizing content
  • Other duties as assigned.
