Sr. Market Insight Analyst

As a Senior Market Insights Analyst, you work with the strategy group (Planners & Marketing Science) to market analysis plans (painting an insightful picture of the landscape) and research reports (creative optimization and tracking studies).

Success for this position is primarily measured by the ability to turn data into stories people will care about and will be inspired by. This includes being imaginative and insightful with market analyses and thorough with research projects. Success also means staying up on research methods and trends occurring in and outside of the agency – client and industry – and identifying new opportunities for analysis (think Big Data). And, of course, you can’t be successful without also developing trusting relationships with internal teams, clients, and 3rd party research partners.

An ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis, a general understanding of media and creative strategy, and have 6+ years of agency research experience, via either a research-heavy strategy role or research-specific role, including 2+ years of management/ supervisory experience.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Potentially manage a Market Insights team of 2-3 Analysts – guide, develop & provide quality control.
  • Partner with agency and client teams to develop landscape analyses that provide insights and hypotheses that set the table for strategy development including 1) consumer research that follows landscape (who we recruit, issues we explore…) and 2) hypotheses for planners and Marketing Science team on potential targets for our data-informed targeted marketing efforts using big data.
  • Partner with Consumer Insights clients to on research for creative optimization testing and brand tracker studies; objectives, study design, questionnaires, interpretation and internal report writing.
  • Collaborate with Central Agency Analytics to design campaign performance dashboards and develop recommendations.
  • Participate in strategic discussions – use relevant research insights to inform these discussions.
  • Create actionable, story driven presentations of research results and recommendations.
  • Present research results and campaign performance to agency and client teams, including C-Suite.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate experience should include:

  • 6+ years of agency research experience, via either a research-heavy strategy role or research-specific role.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven thought-leadership on high profile brands with work you’re happy to brag about
  • A track record of innovative and provocative thinking
  • Experience with data analysis and qual/quant research and have ability to see and adapt insights
  • The desire and ability to translate data into visual, actionable story-driven reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to also see and act on the big picture.
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and presentation skills should be best in class
